On top of that she’s the new face of Ivy Park SS17, Beyoncé’s activewear line. In a recent interview, the 18-year-old college NYU student talks meeting Beyonce, why Kanye West is one of her role models and plans for the future. Peep the excerpts below.
On Beyoncé and meeting her for the first time:
I think Beyoncé working to really empower and show the grace and beauty and intelligence in young black women is really beautiful.
She definitely has a stature and eloquence to her, but I think at the end of the day everyone is who they are.
On Kanye West being one of her role models:
He’s been through a lot of persecution in the media and by people, but it doesn’t stop him from being who he is.
On being focused on finding herself:
I like writing, music, connecting with people. I feel like I can deeply connect with people quickly and I really enjoy that.
On future endeavors:
I’m working on a project that basically expresses the entirety of myself. I feel like modeling can be a little surface.
It’s a little bit of a blog. I don’t really know what to call it, but it’s going to be a really interactive, visually enticing experience.
