On Monday (Sept. 5) pop superstar Britney Spears took to Instagram to share an audio recording which explains the relationship she has with her sons, Jayden, 15, and Sean Preston,16, and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who has sole custody of their children. In the three minute recording, Britney Spears said, in reference to what she went through while under a conservatorship that allowed her father, Jamie Spears to control her life including finances and medical decisions:

“I can totally understand why my family would have a problem with me doing my own thing, maybe ’cause I never have.”

The 40-year-old explained how her conservatorship affected her belief in religion. She said:

“God would not have allowed that to happen to me if God existed. I don’t believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me.”

She added:

“There is nothing to believe in anymore. I’m an atheist, y’all.”

Kevin Federline & Britney Spears

As previously reported, Kevin Federline admitted to being a poor support system to his ex-wife during the fight to end her conservatorship. Kevin Federline said he excluded himself out of Spears’ life drama because his first priority was their sons. The 44-year-old said:

“The boys, the boys, the boys. I had to worry about them.”

Federline shared:

“I couldn’t get involved.”

Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent, discussed their sons missing their mother’s wedding with model/actor Sam Asghari:

“Although the boys will not be in attendance, Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward.”

Federline claimed:

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”

In the surfaced clip, Federline said he was affected by seeing his ex-wife struggle during  her conservatorship. He said:

“I was mortified for her. I really was.”

He continued:

“I still feel bad.”

Reports state that Spears‘ sons chose not to attend their mother’s wedding. Jayden said:

“She didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”

Federline alleged that his ex-wife’s social media portrayal has a negative impact on their sons. He said:

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them.”

Jayden disapproved of his mother’s Instagram posts. He shared:

“It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get some attention. This has gone on for years and years and years, and there’s a high chance that this will never stop, but I’m hoping for me that she will stop.”

Reports allege on Satruday (Sept. 3) Spears took to Instagram to respond to her son’s feelings about her social media posts. The “Oops I Did It Again” singer wrote in a since-deleted caption:

“I’m so sorry children I continue to do social media … I’m sorry you feel I do it for attention … I’m sorry for the way you feel … but guess what ???? I’ve got news for you … I’m a child of God as well we all are in God’s eyes … so NOPE I’m not sorry … I’ve learned to say SO !!!”

In the audio recording released on Monday, Spears addressed her younger son, Jayden. She said:

“Jayden, as you undermine my behavior just like my whole family always has with, ‘Hope she gets better. I will pray for her’ — pray for what?”

She continued:

“Do you guys want me to get better so I can continue paying your dad 40 grand a month, or is the reasoning behind you guys deciding to be hateful is because it’s actually over in two years and you don’t get anything?”

She added:

“If I didn’t shower you guys with gifts, and have amazing food ready and play a [expletive] saint, it was still never good enough.”
