J. Hud Not Rushing To Marry Fiance

Jennifer Hudson is NOT rushing down the aisle. The 35-year-old singer and Oscar Award winning actress is engaged to longtime fiancé, 37-year-old David Otunga. The pair have been engaged for nearly 9 years and have a 7-year-old son, David Daniel Jr. In a recent interview, J.Hud was jokingly asked if she was in a rush to get married and to this, she responded,

I’m not in a hurry. He’s not going anywhere.

And when Asked if they’re “happy and in love,” she replied,

Yes.

Earlier this year, J.Hud explained that she doesn’t feel pressured to jump the broom.

I feel like everything is about timing, and he ain’t going nowhere. He’s still there.

She did admit that sometimes her son does push them to make it official. But she notes that some times, couples are together for years unmarried, and then split soon after they walk down the aisle. She adds,

Everyone has married us off anyway and we’re still a family but there’s no difference. I’m a believer in you do well and better in what you want to do rather than what you have to do. If you have to be somewhere, you don’t want to do it no more.
