Laura Govan Talks White Boyfriend, Jackie Christie & Strained Relationship w/ Sister

Laura Govan recently took her talents to The Domenick Nati Show, discussing her strained relationship with her sister Gloria Govan; if she’d ever return to Basketball Wives LA and her thoughts about Jackie Christie’s relationship with her daughter. Laura also recalls how she experienced racism during NBA games, when she was in a relationship with her ex fiance Gilbert Arenas.

When the mother of four is asked if she would ever return to the Basketball Wives franchise, she responds:

The talk is there, but I don’t think so. I think at this point in my life, if I could go on there and be somebodies mentor then I can do that, but not so much just to talk crap and banter. That’s really not my life anymore.

It’s no secret Laura has been at odds with her sister, Gloria Govan, for years. Although the sibling relationship seems to have gotten better, it’s still not what it used to be. When asked about her sister, she assures fans having a solid family base is still her number one goal.

We really don’t have much of a ‘sister relationship’. We keep it really tight for our children. Our kids play together, they love each other, and I think we’ll keep it like that.”

For the past few weeks, social media has had a slew of opinions regarding Jackie Christie and her daughter, Ta’kari Lee. When asked, Govan offered her two cents, as well explaining:

Your saying you’re a great mom, and I’m not knocking Jackie’s not a great mom [because] she may be, in her own way. I just think she needed to keep that [Christie’s family drama] very private and personal. I think she needs to stay out of it and move on.

During the conversation, Govan also speaks about experiencing racism at NBA Games when she was with baller Gilbert Arenas. She says,

I saw a lot. I remember going into certain cities – that will remain nameless – they would yell ‘You n*gger,’ ‘You monkey.’ I used to be like, ‘Wait a minute! Is this happening?!’”

Govan was then asked about the status of her and Gilbert’s co-parenting relationship.

I don’t really pay attention to his shenanigans, and his rants. I don’t get off into that with Gilbert. I need him to get on my page. I need him to get on board with where I am. I just want to co-parent. I just want to deal with solutions.

The TV personality also reveals that she has boyfriend. Explaining what type of men she’s now into, she says:

I like ‘em white! I have a boyfriend now. He’s actually Moroccan, but he’s white. He acts white, he looks white. Sometimes I’m like, ‘Damn! you’re hella white’ and we just laugh.’ I’m happy.

Weighing in on president Trump, she states,

I really do think he’s [Donald Trump] a great business man. I think he’s figured out the system. He knows how to maneuver, be janky, a hustler, sometimes I’m like, ’That’s a black man! He just acts like a retard.’ I think he’s brought back the power of racism.

Govan also reveals which celebrity she enjoyed meeting the least.

You know, Chris Rock. His ex-wife was our neighbor when we grew up in Oakland [California]. I remember seeing him years later, in L.A., I was like, ‘Oh my God! Do you remember me?! I was the little girl who lived next door to your wife.’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, so?!’ He was so mean.
