Remy Ma Explains Why Vince Herbert Replaced Papoose As Her Manager
After serving a prison sentence, Remy Ma has been hitting the ground running with new music, healthy eating habits, new beef with other female emcees, and a new manager! Yes, we learned the New York femcee has decided to part ways with husband Papoose as her manager, however, they remain happily married.
While she hasn’t spoken lately about the ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj, Remy is focused on her new music and is excited to do records with Lil Kim, who she has much respect for in the rap game. During a recent interview, the female rapper talked about the dynamic of her marriage with Pap, and the role of her new manager. Check out excerpts below.
On weight-loss journey:
I cleansed everyday, and then I stopped eating meat, I only do seafood, and mostly just fruits and vegetables.. water, water, water, it’s a lot.
On past fallout and reconnection with Lil Kim:
Well, when I first came home in 2014, I met Kim at Fab’s birthday party, and we had had a fallen out years ago.. I’m in my section, and she’s in her section, and it was so weird because she had sent somebody to come to my section to say she wanted to talk to me at the same time I sent someone to her section to say I wanted to talk to her.. from there, we always stayed in contact.
On Why Husband Papoose is no longer her manager:
So the thing is this, with my husband by my side, I managed to get two Grammy nominations, Soul Train Award, BET Award, Gold singles, Muliti-Platinum singles, and we did all of that with just us two independently, so now I’m like ‘I want my husband back’, and want to take it to the next level, not because he did a bad job, he did a great job, and he’s always gonna be there.
On Vince Herbert as new manager:
Vince is doing a great job….Pap looks over everybody’s shoulder.
In other Remy Ma news, last week she released “Wake Me Up” featuring Lil Kim. Listen to the track below.
