Eve Doesn’t Approve of Nicki Minaj’s Shoot: Its just not right.
She hasn’t been on The Talk for a week and Eve is already making headlines for her opinion.
This week, the new talk show host weighed in on Nicki Minaj’s new Paper Magazine cover.
The 39-year-old stated,
I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on ‘Barbershop’… she’s a nice person, she’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her… but as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that.
I think in this climate, it’s not good. I think every artist has a right to express themselves however they want to express themselves and I respect that as well.
For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me and younger people were looking up to me, and that, not that you want to be a role model, but it becomes what you become, it is what you are.
She continued,
As I’ve gotten older … I’d just rather be a voice that’s uplifting… I can be a voice for those girls that might not have a voice, in a different way without showing myself off … For the Nicki fans, I love her, respect her.
Go women in hip hop. It’s not my thing. I just don’t think it’s right. Personally. Period. That’s it.

Eve has to remember, Nicki has fans from Eve’s generation as a rapper, in addition to a new generation.The problem is, she should have discussed the things she did in her past a little more thoroughly versus saying ” as she got older”. You can’t throw stones when you live in a glass house. As soon as I seen the headline, I just thought to myself, “but Eve has a picture naked with another girl in between her legs floating around the net.” Speak more on the subject in general, versus Nicki. What’s not right…the sexually suggestive nature of the photos? Or the fact the photos are photoshopped together to imitate a minage a trois with 3 Nicki’s? Would it be better if it were 3 different women posing in the same form? I just have many questions, but I don’t see much wrong with it unless you think it’s just profusely sexy or even pornographic.

I feel with age comes wisdom. Eve has never denied who she was or done in the past, but just speaking on the Eve that is now. Nikki has to sell albums/units & will do whatever it takes. And im sure part if it, was to distract from her brother that is in jail.
I like Minaj, but the poses are trashy. Nothing artistic about them. It’s one thing to pose suggestively, but these photos leave nothing to the imagination. This casts Nicki to a whole different level in my opinion…
I like the way you worded your opinion. I think Eve used too many excuses when all she had to say was she didn’t care for the photos. Everything a star does is not going to be for little girls or to be viewed as a role model. I’ve been a fan of Nicki for a long time, and most things she does is not for little girls. But as a success, as an artist, sure, she is a great woman of a woman being one of the best.
