Courtney B. Vance To Star In FX Drama ‘Heist 88’
Courtney B. Vance is heading back to the small screen. The Emmy-winning actor will star and produce crime drama Heist 88 for FX. According to the official description,
Set in 1988, Heist 88 tells the true story of arch-criminal and master manipulator Armand Moore (Vance), who persuaded four young African-American employees of First National Bank of Chicago to steal $70 million via a sophisticated take down of the banking wire system.
The project will reunite Vance with director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway, who worked together on FX’s The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which earned 22 Emmy nominations, winning nine. Hemingway won for Outstanding Directing For A Limited Series and Vance for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for is portrayal of Johnnie Cochran. Vance also won a Critics’ Choice Award for the role.
He recently co-starred in the 2016 comedy “Office Christmas Party” with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, in 2017’s “The Mummy” with Tom Cruise; and alongside Oprah Winfrey in HBO’s “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.”
He will next lend his voice to the upcoming Fox animated film, “Isle of Dogs” set to be released next year.
