Russell Simmons Stops Publicly Claiming His Innocence Against Rape Accusers
Russell Simmons, who is usually relatively active on social media, is remaining silent online. The 60-year-old mogul has not posted on social media since December 19th. In fact, he has refrained from continuing to proclaim his innocence via his ‘Not Me‘ campaign.
Simmons had been accused by 13 different women of sexual assault, rape and attempted rape. He has maintained his innocence and launched the Not Me campaign to clear his name. According a report, Simmons rep explains why he has been silent on the issue saying that he decided,
This is a time for women to speak. Mr. Simmons’ previous statements stand, and he has nothing to add to [them] at this time.
