Laurieann Gibson is returning to reality TV. The popular choreographer, who starred most recently on Dance Moms, has landed her own show, titled “Laurieann Gibson: Beyond the Spotlight”. It will air on Lifetime and premiere on March 2. The series follows the acclaimed choreographer and her team at BoomKack Worldwide. Each episode offers a look into Gibson’s process as she shapes and steers the creative narrative of her clients that include Sean “Puffy” Combs, Fantasia Barrino, Tamar Braxton, French Montana and many more. The series is produced by Ish Entertaninment for Lifetime. Michael Hirschorn, Melissa Cooper, Jessica Antonini, James Sunderland, Brandon Panaligan serve as executive producers for Ish and Gibson is producer. Mioshi Hill serves as executive producer for Lifetime.
Gibson rose to public prominence as the star of MTV’s Making the Band. She was also a “Fly Girl” on the popular TV series, In Living Color. Following her training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Gibson went from theatre dance to hip hop, becoming director of choreography for Motown Records and Bad Boy Records. She has worked with Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, and Beyoncé. She has also done choreography for the movies, Alfie and Honey, in which she also appeared as star Jessica Alba’s dance nemesis.
