Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl Prince Tribute Gets Mixed Reactions
Sunday night, Justin Timberlake made his official return to the Super Bowl. Thirteen years ago, he and Janet Jackson made headlines, creating the term ‘nipplegate‘, when they performed together. As expected, there was no surprise appearance by Jackson. Prior to his performance, she released a statement confirming that she would NOT be performing.
However, Timberlake’s set did include a tribute to Prince. Prior to his performance, it was rumored that his set included a hologram of the late singer. Prince’s drummer and close friend Sheila E, shared on social media that Prince was not a fan of holograms and considered them ‘demonic’.
Here’s a screen shot of an old interview of Prince being asked about holograms.
