Leslie Odom Jr. Cast In CBS Series ‘$1’
Leslie Odom Jr. has been cast in CBS All Access’s upcoming original series “$1”. The series is a mystery set in a small rust belt town in post-recession America, where a one-dollar bill changing hands connects a group of characters involved in a shocking multiple murder.
Leslie Odom Jr. will portray Randall Abatsy, new in town, he stands out as larger than life with his politician-like charisma and is known for his charitable work and lavish theme parties. Production of the series is set to begin in late March on location in Pittsburgh, Penn.
Leslie Odom Jr. has performed on Broadway and in television and film, and has released two solo jazz albums. He is known for originating the role of Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical Hamilton, a performance for which he won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album as a principal vocalist. His tv roles included Sam Strickland in the musical series Smash (2012–2013). He is also the author of the forthcoming 2018 book Failing Up.
