Russell Simmons Accused of Another Alleged Rape, Sued For $10 Million
Russell Simmons Accused of Another Alleged Rape, Sued For $10 Million
Russell Simmons is facing yet another lawsuit. On Friday, an unidentified woman sued the music mogul, accusing him of rape. The suit was filed in LA County Superior Court and the alleged victim is referred to in the suit as ‘Jane Doe’. She’s suing for $10 million.
In the new lawsuit, Doe says she met Simmons at a concert, where she was chaperoning her son. She alleges Simmons invited her to an afterparty. After dropping her son off with a babysitter, she joined Simmons at the hotel where he was saying. They went to a nightclub before returning to his room.
Doe claims that Simmons convinced her to come to his room saying that he didn’t want to have sex because he was dating a well-known model. However, she says that once she was inside the room, he told her, “I am going to f— you”. She also said he threatened her son. The suit says,
Simmons threw her on the bed and raped her.
In a statement, Simmons maintains his innocence and said he had passed a lie detector test.
I vehemently deny all the allegations made against me. They have shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women. I have submitted myself to multiple lie detector tests. I denied forced sex and sexual harassment allegations brought against me in each test; I also answered no to the question, ‘Have you ever physically forced any woman to have sexual intercourse?’ I passed all of the lie detector tests.
To date, Simmons has been accused by at least nine women of various forms of sexual misconduct. Earlier this year, he was sued for an alleged rape in January. He has adamantly denied wrongdoing.
