BET Canceles ‘The Quad’
BET has pulled the plug on one of its drama series. According to reports, the network has canceled The Quad less than a week after its second season finale.
The Quad was created by Felicia D. Henderson and Charles Holland. The show starred Anika Noni Rose as Dr. Eva Fletcher, a newly elected President of the fictional Georgia A&M University. It also starred Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Sean Blakemore and Jasmine Guy.
According to reports, the show was pulled due to poor ratings. The show’s ratings decreased from its first to second season. Season 2 averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 553,000 viewers per episode in Live+same day according to Nielsen, each metric down around 30% from the first season.
Last fall, BET pulled the plug on Being Mary Jane, starring Gabrielle Union.
