theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Power is reportedly prepping a spin-off. Sources tell us that the series will star Larenz Tate. Tate joined the series during season 4, playing the recurring role of Councilman Tate.
We’re told that Tate will be joined by other Power cast members, but their identity or involvement has not yet been revealed.
Sources tell us that the project is currently in the works and has not yet been finalized.
Power was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh. It premiered in 2014 and follows James St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), nicknamed “Ghost”, owner of “Truth”, a popular New York City nightclub. In addition, he is a major player in one of the city’s biggest illegal drug networks. He struggles to balance these two lives, and the balance topples when he realizes he wants to leave the drug ring in order to support his legitimate business.
Tate is best known for his roles as Peter Waters in Crash and as O-Dog in the 1993 teen hood drama film, Menace II Society. Tate’s other films include Dead Presidents, Love Jones, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, A Man Apart, Waist Deep, Biker Boyz, and Ray.
