XXXTentacion’s Ex Geneva Ayala Says Rapper Was Violently Abusie – His Favorite Thing To Do Was Backhand Me
XXXTentacion is a controversial rapper from Florida who garnered attention for his single, “Look at Me!” which originally premiered on Soundcloud. Since his initial discovery, Tentacion (real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy) has started street riots, charted Billboard charts, and has consequently been in and out of jail. Onfroy has also made headlines for his dealings with women. In 2016, he was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering.
Almost two years later, his ex-girlfriend, Geneva Ayala, is providing details of the violence she endured while being with the rapper. Since the wake of the #MeToo movement, Ayala felt it was necessary to tell her story. Ayala grew up in Florida, as well. In an interview with a Miami, FL publication, she reveals the abuse she endured, reflecting on Onfroy’s fitted rages of jealousy, dehumanization, and immaturity.
She recalls a time when she admired a friend on Snapchat, in return, the rapper smashed her phone,
“ [I] got slapped for no reason and he kept acting like everything was cool.”
Within the same day, she says, Onfroy brought back two barbecue related items, described as grilling fork and a wire barbecue brush, and was forced to pick between the two because he was going to insert them inside her, vaginally. She chose the fork, and then passed out.
Ayala had thoughts on leaving, but knew the 20-year-old would not be “comfortable with that.” Recalling,
His favorite thing was to just backhand my mouth. That always left welts inside my lips.
One time the beating was so bad, she felt like her head was “going to pop.” She spent 30 hours in a backroom, trying to sleep off the pain of the beating. She escaped and went to the police shortly after.
Following the brutal beating, Ayala started a GoFundMe after learning she received severe optic nerve damage and needed surgery if she wanted to continue to have vision. Doctors told her she would need $20,000 for the surgery and advised her to start a GoFundMe. After raising money, she was plagued with claims her abuse was a lie and needed to provide proof. GoFundMe blocked her from receiving funds until she provided documentation on why she needed the money. GoFundMe has re-launched the campaign and Ayala has received over $20,000 in help with the goal of $25,000.
In 2017, Ayala said she wouldn’t testify in court, per the rapper’s request.
I was scared. He always invited all his fans to go to every court appearance… When I walk out of the courtroom and onto the street, what are people going to do?
Fearing for her life, she has plans to move somewhere far away,
somewhere in the country, where there aren’t any people.
Onfroy has persistently denied any claims of abuse against Ayala. Stating,
Geneva f*cked my homeboy… She tried to bribe me and my mother and my people for $3,000. Stop believing the motherf-cking rumors. I did not beat that b*tch; she got jumped. Bye.
Onfroy is on house arrest, awaiting trial, due to a laundry list of charges against him. Click here for Ayala’s Go Fund Me page.
