Chadwick Boseman’s Brother Congratulates Him On 1st Posthumous Award Nomination: I Was So Faithful He’d Be Here To Experience This Moment

Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is notably known for being Chadwick Boseman’s final film before his untimely death. While it’s not slated to be released on the streaming platform until Dec. 18, his performance has already earned him a nod for Best Actor at the IFP Gotham Awards. This is his first award nomination since his passing in August.

His brother, Kevin Boseman, saluted the bittersweet news on Instagram.

He wrote:

“I had to sit with this for a couple days. After screening this with him, I told him he was about to get all the nominations and… I was so faithful he’d be here to experience this moment. Congratulations, Baby Brother.”

Chadwick Boseman passed away after a private, four-year battle with colon cancer.

Kevin Boseman revealed on Instagram that he recently fought his own battle with cancer as well. See his messages below:

Congrats to Chadwick Boseman and continued prayers for his family, friends, and loved ones!
