John Boyega Slams “Star Wars” Trolls – Stop Harassing Us!
Star Wars actor John Boyega is done being polite. The 26-year-old actor recently posted a social media message addressing toxic fans that were seemingly harassing Star Wars actors.
If you don’t like Star Wars or the characters understand that there are decisions makers and harassing the actors/ actresses will do nothing. You’re not entitled to politeness when your approach is rude. Even if you paid for a ticket!

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” actress Kelly Marie Tran deleted her Instagram account following ongoing comments about her race and her acting in the Star Wars movie. Some fans commented on Twitter that her character, Rose Tico, was “pointless, the worst character ever, and worthless.”
Other racist trolls targeted Kelly’s race by changing her name on Wookiepedia to “Ching Chong Wing Tong” and describing her as “stupid, autistic and retarded.” Thankfully Wiki staff did step in and delete the commentary as well as locked down the page so no further changes can be made. When fans were asking about the confirmation that Kelly quit social media due to internet trolls, Boyega stepped in and responded:
Kelly is an adult and has made her decision. I haven’t spoken to her so I am just as clueless. Just accept that you don’t know, as I have.

Boyega has never been one to hold back in terms of his opinion on Star Wars fans that had a lot to say about his race as well. When fans threatened to boycott the Star Wars movie because John is a black man and his character was seen in a stormtrooper uniform, John responded to critics:
I’m grounded in who I am, and I am a confident black man. A confident, Nigerian, black, chocolate man. I’m proud of my heritage, and no man can take that away from me. I wasn’t raised to fear people with a difference of opinion. They are merely victims of a disease in their mind. To get into a serious dialogue with people who judge a person based on the melanin in their skin? They’re stupid, and I’m not going to lose sleep over people.
While Tran never officially made a statement as to why she left social media, thankfully Kelly has the support of her co-stars such as Boyega who are willing to help stand up against toxic fans and trolls.
