Jay-Z Explains Skipping Kim & Kanye’s Wedding
Jay-Z finally appears to be opening up about why he and Beyoncé skipped out on Kanye West’s wedding to Kim Kardashian. Earlier this year, Kanye admitted that it hurt his feelings that his friends (Jay and Bey) were absent when he and Kim walked down the aisle in 2014.
He stated,
I was hurt about them not coming to the wedding. I understand they were going through some things, but if it’s family, you’re not going to miss a wedding.
However he did admit,
I don’t think I ever asked him that question, directly.
On Beyonce and Jay-Z’s surprise album, “Everything Is Love”, Jay seemingly addresses the issue. On a track called “Friends”, he alludes to him and his wife having serious marital issues that were more important that KimYe’s wedding. He rhymes,
I ain’t goin’ to nobody nothin’ when me and my wife beefin’
I don’t care if the house on fire, I’m dyin’, n–ga, I ain’t leavin’
Ty-Ty take care of my kids, after he done grievin’
If y’all don’t understand that, we ain’t meant to be friends
“Everything Is Love” is now available on Tidal.
