Awesome news for Chance The Rapper! This week, Chance (real name Chancelor Bennett), 26, announced that his Aunt Toni who has been battling a serious health issue with her kidney, has officially found a donor. The Chicago rapper took to Twitter to give a quick update as he is preparing the release of his next album in July. He writes:
“I know I’m supposed to be promoting this preorder but today my auntie Toni found a perfect match kidney donor and I just gotta say I serve a promise keeping God! THANK YOU JESUS.”
The great news comes at the perfect time as the Bennett family can breathe a sigh of relief after searching for more than a month.
As previously reported, Chance’s family had been in search as they exhausted all options and had been on a wait list for years.
In May, Chance first revealed his Aunt’s heath condition when he asked the public for prayers while also sharing that his aunt’s blood type is O positive for anyone who is a match. He tweeted:
“I really need help. My Auntie Toni is one of the strongest forces in my life, and she is in dire need of a kidney. We have exhausted all options and have been wait listed for years. My family believes in the power of prayer and we give this problem up to God.”
Get well soon Aunt Toni!
