Billy Dee Williams To Reprise His Role As Lando Calrissian In ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’
Before Donald Glover graced the silver screen as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lando’s character was played by the great Billy Dee Williams. Now reports say the 81-year-old actor/singer will be returning to the Star Wars franchise to reprise his role.
Lando Calrissian was introduced to the Star Wars franchise in Empire Strikes Back (1980). Star Wars: Episode IX is set to begin production later this summer. This will be the first time Williams plays Lando since Return of the Jedi in 1983.
John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver are set to star in the J.J. Abrams-directed film due in theaters December 20, 2019.
