LeBron James Considered 2 Other Teams Before Deciding On Lakers
LeBron James is officially a Laker, but the decision wasn’t as predictable as some sports fans assume. In a new interview, the 33-year-old NBA star shared that in addition to the CAVS, he also considered two other teams. He stated,
I did my due diligence after the season on the pros and cons on a lot of different teams, including the Cavs and including Philadelphia, including Houston and Los Angeles.
He continued,
So it wasn’t as quick as it may seem. It just wasn’t July 9 like it was before. So after talking to my family more than anybody, I felt like this was the next step in my journey.
Earlier this month, LeBron announced his decision to head to Los Angles. According to multiple reports, he has agreed to a four-year contract worth more than $150 million with the Los Angeles Lakers.
It marks the third time in eight years James will have changed teams via free agency, following his departure from the Cavaliers to the Heat in 2010 and his return back to the Cavs in 2014.
