Trump’s Star to Be Removed by Hollywood Walk of Fame
After several vandalizations of the monument in protest of his discriminatory statements, the West Hollywood City Council has decided to remove Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ironically, West Hollywood mayor and LGBT activist, John Duran, tweeted the announcement writing:
West Hollywood City council unanimously passes resolution asking the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the Donald Trump star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. #horcruxdestroyed #bellicose #belligerent #unAmericanvalues #MakeAmericaintoAmericaAgain

Trump first received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007 for his work on NBC’s “The Apprentice.” It has since been destroyed several times by protestors. A month before the 2016 election, the monument was defaced with a pickaxe according to Time Magazine, in response to Trump’s leaked “grab her by the p***y”-comments. After repair, the star was covered in “I Resist” stickers shortly after. The latest vandalization was just last month, when a man practically axed the star into powder form. He later turned himself into police custody.
President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Leron Gubler, has issued a statement, clearly upset that Trump’s star has been vandalized so many times. He said:
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees. When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.
Gubler plans to launch a criminal investigation on whomever destroyed the property. He continued:
…[We are] working with the police in regards to this felony and intends to prosecute to the full extent of the law…[this is] something the Chamber would do for any Walk of Fame star that has been vandalized.
Does the removal of his star officially signify Donald Trump’s fall from grace?
