Carmelo Anthony Officially Signs To The Houston Rockets
After weeks of speculation, the ink is dry and Carmelo Anthony is officially a member of the Houston Rockets. The official announcement was made on Monday by Rockets GM Daryl Morey.
Anthony played one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder who traded him to the Atlanta Hawks on July 19. On July 30, Anthony was waived by the Hawks. He then took his talents to Texas where he has been practicing with the Rockets. On August 7, Anthony and the Rockets verbally agreed to a deal once Anthony returned from off-season in Africa. According to ESPN, the contract would be a one year, $2.4 million deal.
The exact terms of Carmelo’s deal with the Rockets have not been revealed. New teammate, Chris Paul, took to Instagram to welcome Carmelo to the squad.
2019 will mark Carmelo Anthony’s 16th year in the NBA.
