Cardi B Denies Buying Her Way On the Charts: I’m Sick Of People Trying To Discredit Me!
Cardi B fired off at critics who were trying to “discredit” her music and success. As the reign of “Queen” Nicki parades through New York, and as Bardi is spending her time between the studio and feeding her new baby, Kulture, she is reacting to misinterpretations of her musical career. In a extensive comment, she admits after inking her name on the dotted line for Atlantic records, she thought the work was done. She writes:
“I put out LICK and I didn’t [get] the results i wanted, i was going to Atlantic with a tantrum like why my song not getting AirPlay? Why my record not doing good? And they couldn’t help and told me if the song not it it ain’t it.”
As the comment went on, she began to insist that people genuinely love her and like her music.
“YOU [cannot] BUY THE GENERAL PUBLIC NO MACHINE NO MONEY [can] BUY THAT ! Having stadiums sing out your shit YOU CANT BUY THAT ! Having artist listening to your music and supporting you can’t buy that ! A NUMBER ONE YOU CANT BUY THAT !”
She concluded her long-winded message by maintaining her argument that she has earned her success and spot in the rap industry, much like anyone else.
“I’m sick and tired of people trying to [discredit] me. I will not let nobody try to play me or make me feel like I didn’t EARN MY F*CKIN SUCCESS.”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper has recently pulled out of two performances where she was set to hit the stage this fall. Since giving birth, she has assured fans she has been working on new music. Rumor has it, she is suspected to be dropping an Invasion of Privacy deluxe edition with at least six new songs. She is also rumored to be releasing a slew of features, as well.
