Tamera Mowry Defends Her Husband: “He is not racist!”

“The Real” host Tamera Mowry and her husband, Fox News anchor Adam Housely, are no stranger to criticism on their interracial relationship. Tamera chose to reiterate her husband’s stance on racism, as she has done several times, on a recent episode of “The Real.” She said:

“There are some people that think my husband is racist because he works for a certain channel. I’mma look in that camera right there and let everybody know – my husband is not racist!”

Tamera may have felt the need to state this as bluntly as she did, due to the fact that Adam recently left Fox News. Reportedly, former co-workers alleged that Adam’s departure is because he disagreed with the commentary on the network in general. Fox tends to lean in favor of the Republican party, and in turn, Donald Trump. The source said:

“He’s not doing the type of journalism he wants to be doing, and he is unhappy with the tone of the conversation of the channel.”

Adam hasn’t responded to that rumor, but issued his own statement. He said:

“I could not be more proud of the journalism I did at the network, from war zones, to tsunamis, to watching miners pulled from the ground in Chile, I am grateful for the extraordinary opportunities to have a front seat to history and cover news all over the world.”

He continued:

“A huge thank you to the many Fox employees, especially behind the scenes, who have supported me every step of the way. We are friends for life.”

As a product of an interracial marriage, Tamera Mowry has justifiably always taken an emotional response to the negative criticism they receive as an interracial couple. In 2014, she opened up to Oprah Winfrey, alongside her twin sister Tia, about the hateful comments she’s received. She tearfully said:

“I get called ‘White man’s whore.’ The new one was, ‘back in the day, you cost $300, but now you’re giving it to him for free.'”

She continued:

“…people choose to look past love and spew hate. That’s what hurts me because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life. Ever.”

Adam Housely and Tamera Mowry have been married since May 15, 2011, and are parents to a 5-year-old son, Aden, and 3-year-old daughter, Ariah.
