Katt Williams – Wanda Smith’s Husband Admits Confronting Comedian At Comedy Club: He Targeted My Wife
LaMorris Sellers, husband of Wanda Smith of V-103’s “Frank and Wanda In the Morning,” is finally telling his side of the story. In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he tells his version of the incident with comedian Katt Williams. As previously reported, an investigation is underway regarding a physical altercation between LaMorris and Katt outside of Wanda’s comedy show at the Atlanta Comedy Theater, which spilled over into a neighborhood Food Depot grocery store. Below is the press release issued by the Gwinnett County Police Department.
LaMorris acknowledged that he was more upset about Katt continuing to bully his wife, Wanda outside of the radio interview – attributing their on-air banter to joking between comedians.
He said:
“This situation made me look like the weakest, lamest person in the world…It made me look like I got mad because my wife got roasted by Katt Williams on the air. It had nothing to do with what was on the air. That’s what comedians do. When he came to the club, he targeted my wife. As a man, I’m not built like that. I couldn’t possibly let that happen. I have to protect my wife. I wasn’t looking for conflict. I just wanted him to keep it moving. He chose to do different.”
LaMorris recounted the verbal exchange between he and Katt Williams outside of the Atlanta Comedy Theater:
“[Katt said] There’s the lady of the hour…I told you f**king with me would make you go viral!’ [I told him] ‘Bro. You need to find something else to do.’ [Katt replied] ‘You find something to do! I’ll fight you! I’ll fight your big a**!’”
LaMorris Sellers’ account of the incident is consistent with Wanda’s on-air follow-up.
