Fran Drescher Wants Cardi B In “The Nanny” Reboot: “Wouldn’t she be great as my daughter?”
“The Nanny named Cardi” has a nice ring to it. Fran Drescher, star of 90s sitcom The Nanny, wants to reboot the show with none other than rapper/reality TV star Cardi B.
During a recent interview, she stated that the collaboration would be a match-made in TV heaven.
“I wanna do a sitcom with Cardi B…Wouldn’t she be great as my daughter?”
She continued, commenting on how networks haven’t approached her regarding a reboot despite the many reboots taking place in television and film:
“I’m totally down with doing it. I don’t know what is going on with some of these networks out there because they do not seem to be hip to the fact that there’s an obsession amongst millennials for the show and moi!”
Fans took to social media in droves during Cardi B’s Jimmy Fallon interview from last year, commenting on the similarities between Cardi’s wardobe and hair for the appearance.
Recently, Cardi B wore full-on tiger print outfit for the Spring 2018 Dolce and Gabbanna fashion show, with this caption:
“@iamcardib Fran Drescher in @dolcegabbana”
After seeing Cardi’s post, Fran Drescher was inspired to do develop a reboot with the “I Like It” rapper. Fran said:
“I was so flattered. I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said ‘Fran Drescher.’ And then I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!'”
Would you watch a Cardi B reboot of The Nanny?
