Rihanna Reflects After Losing A Fan To Cancer

Rihanna sent a message to her Navy on Thursday (Dec. 27), informing them, Monia, a dedicated Navy member, had been relabeled as a Navy Angel, after losing her life to cancer. Monia, originally from overseas, met Rihanna recently while she was in London in June. Prior to their meeting, both women had been connected with the help of social media.

Rihanna shared about her experience of meeting Monia writing,

Navy Angels! This Christmas, we lost a beautiful spirit who was such a pillar of strength to us! Most of our friendship she’s spent in a hospital or doctor’s office! This picture was just a few months ago, she looked at me and said ‘Rih the cancer is back’ I’ll never forget the fear in her eyes this day! Still she pushed forward, fighting the fight everyday with the Navy behind her supporting her every step of the way! We are all heartbroken about this!!! You will never be forgotten! Love you my angel @moniasto fly in peace.

While in London, Monia says she explained to Rihanna her cancer had came back. The pair shared a moment together as they hugged and took a selfie. After meeting Rih, Monia expressed how she appreciated how caring she was:
