Alleged Rape Of Atlanta Woman Caught On Facebook Live Video

Alleged Rape Of Atlanta Woman Caught On Facebook Live Video [VIDEO]

What began as a night out at one of Atlanta’s hottest nightclubs ended in tragedy and devastation, as a woman was drugged and raped while on the dance floor at Opera nightclub. The horrific incident, which she was able to record in its entirety on Facebook Live, has been making the rounds on social media since it happened.

The woman has been identified as Jasmine Eiland, who in the video, is seen dancing with an unidentified man, before she was allegedly drugged and subsequently sexually assaulted on the crowded dancefloor of Opera nightclub. Reportedly, the owners of the club said they were unaware of the assault that happened in their establishment, while security is also being blamed for not being around to help Eiland.

In the early morning hours of January 20, the Atlanta Police Department responded to the incident with a statement:

“Early Sunday morning, APD began receiving calls about a Facebook Live video that appears to show a woman being sexually assaulted in a local nightclub. Our Special Victims Unit made contact with the victim today, and an investigation into the matter has been opened. The investigation continues.”

Monday afternoon Eiland spoke out for the first time since her sexual assault occurred, specifically addressing why she didn’t delete the controversial video. She responded that she

“did not and could not delete the video due to the investigation that is going on.”

She also stated that the man who raped her has been found and all she wants is justice. She ended her video by thanking everyone online who sent out prayers and well wishes to her. See the video below.
