Taraji P. Henson Compares R. Kelly To Harvey Weinstein, Later Clarifies Her Opinion
Taraji P. Henson attempted to turn a dial of thought by seemingly comparing R. Kelly to Harvey Weinstein but now has been met with criticism, as the two are NOT mutually exclusive.
Henson shared a video to her Instagram Story Tuesday morning, citing there were more hashtags about #MuteRKelly rather than #MuteHarveyWeinsten.
Weinsten, a former Hollywood executive, is currently on trial for the rape of multiple women within the span of his career. While Kelly is under criminal investigation within the state of Georgia and Illinois for sexual misconduct on multiple women over the past two decades.

The investigations weren’t launched until after the airing of Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly,” the six-part docuseries which aired the dealings of Kelly’s past of sexual misconduct, domestic abuse, and sex cult allegations over the span of three night period. The docuseries’ producer, Dream Hampton has responded to Henson’s recent posts on social media,
No idea why Taraji Henson wouldn’t know that there are not one, but two projects abt Harvey Weinstein. But this is an oft-invoked deflection. While I care abt the Hollywood stars Weinstein abused, I care more abt Asante, Kitty, Jerhona, Lisette, Azriel & Joy & others, even more.
Adding,
Plus, you don’t really care about Weinstein, you just want silence around R. Kelly. Taraji, like me, is from the generation whose job it was to deal with R. Kelly 20 years ago. We didn’t and countless girls were harmed because of our inaction. So I made #SurvivingRKellly

Social media has weighed in Henson, as well. Check out some reactions below.
