Fox’s “Rent” Had The Lowest Live Musical Ratings Ever

Fox’s Live Broadcast of “Rent” Had the Lowest Live Musical Ratings Ever
Apparently not everyone was in the “Season of love.” According to reports, Fox’s live broadcast of the musical “Rent” garnered the lowest ratings ever for a live musical.

The lack of viewership could be partly attributed to the fact that it wasn’t entirely live. Fox was forced to air many pre-taped segments of “Rent’s” dressing rehearsal due to cast-member Brennin Hunt breaking his foot hours before showtime.

Despite the low ratings in comparison to other live musical broadcasts, the show still beat the competition in what would have aired during those hours. The show, starring Mario, Vanessa Hudgens, and Tinashe, garnered 3.4 million viewers.

Mario opened up about adjusting to life without the musical. He tweeted:
“Feels crazy not to have a call time today.
Thank you to everyone who watched, tweeted, sang along to @RENTonFOX last night.
This experience has forever changed me! #rentonfox”

But, when one door closes, another opens. Mario is booked and busy, and on his way to start the “Millenium Tour.” He’ll perform alongside B2K, Lloyd, Chingy, Pretty Ricky, and the Ying Yang Twins. The tour kicks off on March 8th in Pittsburgh.
