R. Kelly Manager Says Singer Filmed Sex “To Prove Consent”, Uses Mike Tyson As Example & Blames Whomever Brought 14-Year-Old Girl Into The Room W/ Him [VIDEO]
The sexual abuse charges against singer/songwriter/producer R. Kelly are just the beginning of what is likely to be a very long, drawn out process before a final verdict is reached.
There are new reports and videos being released almost daily and several associates are speaking out on the singer’s behalf—the latest being his manager, Don Russell.
As R. Kelly is currently out on bail awaiting the next step in his sexual abuse case where his was charged on 10 counts, those around him are doing their best to help him and possibly attempt to repair his extremely tarnished reputation.
One of those closest to him is his manager, advisor and friend, Don Russell, who recently spoke out about why Kelly recorded past sexual encounters with alleged minors—and surprisingly it’s because of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Russell explained:
“The videos exist, but you have to think about this, Mike Tyson went to jail for what? He couldn’t prove what happened in that room, right? He’s not taping videos because he gets something off from it. He could have sex everyday if he wanted to, he’s R. Kelly. You got to think about that. The only way to prove that it was consensual is maybe for him to tape it. That’s not what he chose to do, he was advised to do so on some occasions.”
Russell continued, questioning how an alleged 14-year-old found her way into R. Kelly’s bedroom in the first place:
“…Whoever let the 14-year-old whatever you guys are saying, whoever let them get in the room…how did they get in there? Why did they get in there?”
Russell also stood firm in his support for Kelly, stating that he would never be friends with someone who sexually abused young girls because he himself lost a daughter. He added that Kelly is “not the monster that everybody’s portraying him out to be.” Russell stated that the public is only hearing one side of the story, but once Kelly tells his side, he’s confident perceptions will change.
Of the alleged victims and their motives, Russell agreed that it’s about extortion and specifically pointed out Assante McGee:
“You got Assante McGee, who’s got, what, seven felonies? For extortion, for bribery, for theft. Why is her rap sheet not in question right now? Why is she not the person people are looking at thinking she might have extorted him?”
