‘Insecure’ Star Yvonne Orji Breaks & Boyfriend Emmanuel Acho Break-Up

Sometimes relationships last forever and sometimes they end, however the end of a relationship doesn’t mean you have to be sad about it. That’s the approach that Insecure star Yvonne Orji is taking after revealing that she and boyfriend Emmanuel Acho have officially gone their separate ways.

While speaking during the latest episode of her podcast Jesus and Jollof with author Luvvie Ajayi, Yvonne Orji broke the news that she and boyfriend, former NFL star Emmanuel Acho, are no longer together. The former couple began dating in the middle of 2018, almost approaching the one-year mark of their relationship.

However, Orji wants to make it clear, that unlike many women during a breakup, she is not sitting around depressed, sad or crying. In fact, she says that she’s actually quite happy these days despite the circumstances.

Speaking about her current mind-state since the breakup, Orji said:

“I am newly single. But before you start saying ‘Oh Nooooo!’ Guys, hey. You see me? I’m happy. I’m actually so happy. Luvvie I remember, Luvvie called me and was like, ‘It’s okay, you can be mad!’ ‘I was like, no I’m OK.’I was like, ‘no it really is alright and I’m about to go furniture shopping.’ I came back and I was like, ‘I got a couch.’”

She continued, stating that the reason for her positive outlook about the demise of her relationship is due to her faith:

“I just have to say, the reason I am so good and so happy is because I know how God works,” she said. “I have seen God’s MO so many times, that like in the way that you can be like, ‘Aw man, I thought this was it! I thought this was the one!’ God be like, ‘Oh that’s what you thought? I got the goods for you.’ It happened in my career when someone offered me a show and I was like, ‘This is it!’ and then the show went to nowhere. I got borderline depressed. Cut to ‘Insecure.’ Cut to my life has changed.”

For those wanting to know, Orji, 35, also admitted that she and Acho did not sleep together during their relationship, and that she still remains a virgin. She said that she believes the lack of sex is what allowed her to make a clean emotional and spiritual break from Acho.

Apparently, the breakup was definitely amicable because both Orji and Acho still currently follow each other on social media, as well as have photos up of them together in happier times.
