Former NFL Star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Signs w/ United Premier Soccer League
Former NFL wide reciever and 6-time Pro Bowler, Chad Johnson has officially signed his first football contract. More specifically, unlike the American pigskin football, Johnson will be playing for Boca Raton FC of the United Premier Soccer League. On Tuesday, Club President Douglas Heizer announced the signing of Johnson to their 2019 roster.
“We are excited to have Chad on the Club. Chad has a tremendous heart and is a joy to be around and has been nothing but a team player since day one with Boca Raton FC.”

The news comes after Johnson’s trail with the club, starting five times in the last five months. According to reports, Johnson, 41, is set to debut in his season opener on Saturday.
Johnson’s new head coach, Jim Rooney, spoke about Chad’s ability on the football field and how that will help his new journey on the soccer field.
“Chad is a tremendous athlete. He has proven himself in the gridiron and will now prove himself in the soccer pitch. Chad has had some great training and preseason matches with us and we are excited to continue this journey with him.”
Ochocino gave a statement, sharing his first deal as a soccer player is a dream come true, Johnson says,
“I’m really excited to join the team and contribute in any way possible. For me, this is more than just an opportunity but a dream come true that I was never able to fulfill during my childhood.”
As previously reported, prior to signing his soccer deal, Johnson prevented a fan from being evicted from his home. Chad requested proof of the eviction and sent a follower a PayPal amount of $1,500.
