NeNe Leakes Reveals Husband Gregg “Wanted to Separate”

A bombshell was dropped on last night’s (3/17/19) episode of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” OG peach-holder NeNe Leakes revealed that things had gotten so sticky between she and her husband, Gregg Leakes, that he proposed that they separate for a second time! The Leakes duo separated in 2010, finalizing their divorce in 2011 before remarrying in a lavish ceremony in 2013.

Their latest qualms have centered around what NeNe says has been a struggle of her staying strong amid Gregg’s cancer battle – which included a drastic change in their relationship. After castmate Eva Marcille exchanged nuptials with husband, Michael Sterling, NeNe told Cynthia Bailey:

“Right before I came here, he talked about separating. He said he would go ahead and find him a place.”

She emotionally continued:

“Last night, I felt like I broke because he is so mean. I get that it’s a sickness, but I can’t be talked to like that. It’s weird because you’re trying to help the sick person, but they don’t want your help. And everybody around thinks I’m bad.”

During confessionals, NeNe Leakes detailed she and Gregg’s relationship issues. She said:

“Gregg lets me take the rap for a lot of things that he’s done. People generally point the finger at me, and he just kind of like sits and lets me take that rap, when he knows that it’s not that way at all.”

However, NeNe insists that she and Gregg’s talks of separation are a thing of the past. She tweeted this in response to a follower:

“Oh pleaseeeeee! Gregg Leakes and i are VERY much together! U looking at an episode that was shot in July 2018 #SMH”

She, then, took to Instagram commenting on how they’ve made it through their tough time. NeNe’s caption read:

“Oh Lawd! They say we separated now @greggleakes #fakenews I appreciate you tho Gregg for accepting and understanding that being a care taker is something I’ve never done and i have truly done the best i know how all while making tons of mistakes along the way. You never asked to get sick and We were both thrown into these new positions over nite but whew chile you have kicked cancers ass! I can’t wait for u to share with the world your exciting news in a couple of weeks #fam4life #nomatterwhathappens #wearetheleakes”

But despite the the sadness the wedding brought NeNe, she still managed to deliver a beautiful speech for Eva and her husband at their reception. She said:

“To the bride and groom: may you live each day like it’s your first, and each night like it’s your last. Never go to bed angry. Stay up and fight all night. The secret to a happy marriage remains a secret, but to me, I believe that respect and communication is the key to a happy marriage…Eva and Michael, I wish you all the best. Congratulations. We love you. If you guys could please raise your glasses, and let’s toast to love wins.”

Last night’s episode wasn’t NeNe Leakes’ first time sharing her troubles she and Gregg’s relationship. Last year, she hinted that he was taking his fear of his illness out on her.

Gregg Leakes later issued a public apology to his blonde bombshell wife.
