T.I. Reprimands Man For Wearing Gucci – It’s What’s In You, Not What ‘s On You
T.I. Reprimands Man For Wearing Gucci ‘It’s What’s In You, Not What’s On You’ [VIDEO]
Rapper T.I. was spotted dropping wisdom to a young man about the Gucci boycott. The high-fashion designer faced backlash after it released a design that appeared to be blackface.
It looks like T.I. came across a young man that was sporting Gucci recently. The rapper and reality was caught on camera explaining his position on not wearing Gucci. He told the other man,
“It’s what’s in you, not what’s on you. It’s what’s in you, not what’s on you. That s*** ain’t s*** until we put it on. We made that s*** fly.”
He went on to display his own outfit and said he looks even better without the Gucci.
“Look at me, I’m fly as a motha f***a, and I ain’t got that s*** on. I look better than you as a matter of fact.”

The young man told T.I. that before the blackface incident happened, T.I. would wear Gucci frequently. But T.I. said he now has a different perspective about the company.
“They showed me their disrespect, so guess what? I can’t do it no more.”
The young man added that “none of them,” possibly referencing other high-end designers, respect the black community.
“If you’re gonna defy it, defy it man.”
But T.I. said it’s different when you actually become aware of a designer’s intentions.
“When we become knowledgeable…”
T.I. has been vocal about boycotting Gucci for a few weeks, despite the apology it issued. He made his own statement back in February.
“As a 7 figure/yr customer & long time supporter of your brand I must say…Y’all GOT US f***ed UP!!! APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED!!!! We ain’t going for this “oops my bad I didn’t mean to be racist and disrespectful towards your people” s***!!! Y’all knew wtf y’all was doin and WE AINT GOING FOR IT!!! We ALL GOTTA Stop buying, wearing, and supporting this piece of s*** company And ALL PIECE OF S*** COMPANIES UNTIL THEY LEARN TO RESPECT OUR DOLLARS & VALUE OUR BUSINESS!!!!”
“Our culture RUNS THIS S***!!! We (People of color) spend $1.25 TRILLION/year (but are the least respected and the least included)and if we stop buying ANYTHING they MUST correct any and ALL of our concerns. That’s THE ONLY WAY we can get some RESPECT PUT ON OUR NAME!!!! I Don’t Give a F*** if I gotta wear Target brand s***…. #f***Gucci”
