Britney Spears Checks Into ‘Wellness Facility’ As Her Father Battles Illness
Britney Spears is taking her hiatus even further. After announcing a pause on her Las Vegas residency due to her father’s current health battle, she reportedly checked into a wellness facility.
An insider says that Spears went to receive “all-encompassing wellness treatment.”
A second source added,
“Britney just needed to focus on herself.”
They pointed out the singer is helping her father as he recovers from a tear in his colon that was said to be life-threatening. Still, Spears is reportedly taking steps to keep her own wellness on track.

“Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her — she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.”
She hinted at taking a break on Instagram Wednesday. She shared a quote that reads,
“Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”
She added the caption,
“We all need to take for a little ‘me time.’ :)’

Spears’s recent break from the spotlight started in January when she announced she would be putting her Las Vegas residency on hold. She announced the news on Twitter and shared a photo of her and her parents, Jamie, 66 and Lynne, 63.
“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.”
She went on to tell fans how they can get a refund and thanked them for their prayers and support.

Spears residency was scheduled to kick off in April.
Continued prayers and thoughts for her father’s full recovery.
