Nipsey Hussle was known as a pillar in the community in Los Angeles and nationwide. Although he died at just 33, it’s no secret that he certainly made a difference while he was here.
Hussle was tragically gunned down in front of his store in South Los Angeles, The Marathon, on Sunday. He died of gunshot wounds. The hip hop community has grieved him all week on social media, and now the funeral service details have been released.
The service will take place Thursday morning at The Staples Center in L.A., according to reports. Security will also be on hand as LAPD is said to have attended a meeting with Hussle’s family and the heads of Staples Wednesday. Ushers who work for the building have reportedly been asked to plan on working that day as well. It will certainly be quick planning as the L.A. Clippers play Friday night.
The late Michael Jackson’s funeral service was also held at Staples back in 2009.
Hussle was survived by his parents, his longtime girlfriend Lauren London, and his two children. London is the mother of Hussle’s two-year-old son, Kross.
London broke her silence on his passing Tuesday.
Snoop Dogg, who was very close with Hussle, also shared a screenshot of a text message between him and his mother, where his mother said she was praying for Hussle’s parents.
Just Friday, Snoop and The Game were a part of efforts for rival gangs to unite. A vigil took place in front of Hussle’s store where gangs from multiple sides made peace.
