Ashanti Reveals She And Ja Rule Are ‘Working On Music’ For Future Joint Album
They made a multitude of hits throughout the early to mid-2000s as two of the biggest artists in R&B and hip-hop, now Ashanti and Ja Rule are gearing up to do it again. In a new interview, the former First Lady of Murder Inc., revealed that she and Ja are currently hard at work on new music—for a forthcoming joint album.
Ashanti and Ja Rule had a run of hits that most artists would kill for, they practically ran the millennium era from the early to mid-2000s. Since nostalgia is back with a vengeance these days, it makes sense that the two would collaborate again and put out the joint album that fans have been waiting over 15 years for.

While promoting her new musical drama Stuck, Ashanti revealed that Ja, who she has been touring with for the past three years, is currently working on his own individual music and she is as well. However, the big news is that they are also “working on music” together for an as-yet-untitled joint album.
Of the duo’s current musical process and collaborative album plans, Ashanti said:
“We have some shows together. He’s definitely gonna be working on stuff and we’re gonna be doing some stuff together as well. We’re still on the path to dropping a joint album. I think that should be kind of cool, too.”

She also added that their years-long “brother and sister” relationship is what has kept them friends (and frequent collaborators) for so many years. Meanwhile, Ashanti is currently hard at work on her own solo album, which is set to feature Tory Lanez, Swae Lee and Jeremih.
Of the upcoming project, she previously said:
“I’m working with some amazing producers, really cool ideas, and collabs! I’m excited about the next few moves, the year ahead, and releasing new music. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Stuck starring Ashanti hits theaters on April 19th.
