K. Michelle Says She’s The Next Taylor Swift While Announcing At Open Mic: I Sing Better Than Any White Motherf**king Country Singer In Nashville

Singer K. Michelle is on a mission to conquer the music world in a genre we’re not used to hearing from her – country! But, she feels she’s being shut out of the genre. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she vented about getting denied the right to sing at an open mic night in Nashville. Video footage shows her marching up to the microphone with this bold statement:

“Hello Nashville! My name is K. Michelle. I have three #1 albums on Billboard. You can pull out your Google right now as we speak. No lie. I am K. Michelle. I currently have three #1 albums on Billboard. I currently am here in Nashville. I have just got done sitting down with Mr. Chris Stapleton. You guys can pull it up, uh huh. And I am a Black girl- and guess what? I’m a Black girl that sings better than any white motherf*ckin’ country singer in Nashville right now.”

She continued, with a vengeance:

“And guess what? I have a ton of your favorite people behind me. So when I say I’m the next motherf*cking Taylor Swift, it’s not a motherf*cking joke. It’s the motherf*cking truth. I’m Black as sh*t. I listen to City Girls, and I curse motherf*ckers out, but guess what? I can play that motherf*cking guitar…”

Oop! K. Michelle didn’t let her rant stop there. Her caption read:

“HEY Nashville! I was not invited but I came. I walked right up there and had a public service announcement that : Nashville “I AM HERE” you can’t keep telling me I can’t sing your music but the truth is it’s MINE. It’s ours. We bleed the same blood Let’s make some magical music regardless of how we look. We can all exist together”

The former “Love and Hip Hop” star hasn’t directly addressed her PSA since deleting her post, but hinted that she’s as multifaceted as they come in a Twitter post.

K. Michelle may be on to something when it comes to kicking the door down for Blacks in country music. Self-proclaimed country trap rapper Lil Nas X was recently removed from the Country Billboard charts after they claimed his viral hit, “Old Town Road,” was “not traditionally country.” He re-entered the charts at number one when country music legend – Miley Cyrus‘ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus – remixed the song. Unfortunately, even then, Nashville’s Music Row displayed a congratulatory sign with only Billy Ray’s face on it.

Is K. Michelle the next big thing in country music? Let us know in the comment.
