Wendy Williams’ Estranged Husband Kevin Hunter Speaks Out About Dissolving Foundation: I Plan To Launch A New Foundation
Wendy Williams’ estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, has released a statement regarding the former couple’s Hunter Foundation. In a statement he says,
“Although The Hunter Foundation in its current form will dissolve, the important work will live on. I plan on launching a new foundation in the near future to continue the important mission in helping those struggling with drug addiction and substance abuse.”
He continues,
“In regards to the partnership with T.R.U.S.T. and the resource hotline 888-5HUNTER, the call center will go on a brief hiatus beginning May 31st. Since launching in early-March, the hotline has received over 13,000 phone calls and has connected nearly 900 individuals to some level of treatment and care. We will work to partner with other reputable organizations to get the hotline back up and running so that we can continue changing lives. – Kevin Hunter
Earlier this month, Wendy confirmed that she had dissolved their substance abuse awareness foundation. The organization’s mission was near and dear to Wendy’s heart considering her own struggles with her alcohol and drug addiction.
At the time, Wendy read the following statement on the show:
“While accepting her new reality, many things in her life have changed…[she] remains committed to helping others in the struggles of life.”
Wendy and Kevin married in 1997. They share a 19-year-old son. Wendy filed for divorce in April.
