Regina Hall Talks Refusing To Tell Whitney Houston Joke
We all know actress Regina Hall can go there and fully commit to her roles, no matter how seemingly crazy.
But she drew the line when it came to a script that would require her to insult late icon, Whitney Houston.
“There was a joke and I can’t remember what it was. But it was a joke I think about drugs and Whitney Houston, and I was like I don’t want to say that.”
Hall said,
“Artists give so much and so to make fun of what was a challenge and an illness, and the great thing about our writers is they were like ‘Absolutely, we’ll just do something else.
Hall, whose latest role was in the Showtime comedy Black Monday, described her character Dawn Darcy and said she’s “driven like a man,” pointing out that often times women can be “apologetic” for being too ambitious. She added that she loves how complex her character is as she portrays the ups and downs of all things women.
