Lee Daniels Promises ‘Star’ Isn’t Over, Will Give Fans Closure Following Cancellation
In the aftermath of his hit series, ‘Star’ getting the axe, director Lee Daniels shares some uplifting news – fans of the show can expect some kind of closure. In a social media video, the director admits that the show’s cancellation is due to being “all business.” After a three year run, Daniels adds how much the FOX series meant to him. He says,
“I was lucky to have it and blessed to have it for three years.
He also adds,
We will have something with some closure.”
He continues:
“You ain’t seen the last of Star. We will have something that will make you happy, promise.”
Several of Daniels’ celebrity friends took to his comments including ‘Star’ actress and supermodel, Naomi Campbell and Kimora Lee Simmons. Actor Evan Ross writes in support,
”This is the best.”

As previously reported, recently Daniels announced that he was not able to bring the show back via another network. He explained,
Okay… So I got some bad news. It ain’t happening. I tried my best guys. You know, we got some incredible people. I mean, I can’t even list everybody. I’ll say it in a letter. But in a nutshell, it ain’t happening. I did my best. Just know that like with Precious and Empire, that first season… The Butler, Monster’s Ball… the next thing I do is gonna be Star. So I exist and it will exist in all of my work. I love you all and the fans that have supported us.”
