Alleged Mastermind Behind David Ortiz Shooting Arrested, Says He “Fears For His Life” [VIDEO]
Almost a month after the bizarre shooting of Boston Red Sox star, David Ortiz, the alleged mastermind behind the operation has been arrested. But there’s been a sharp plot twist! Víctor Hugo Gómez‘s alleged ordered hit was a case of mistaken identity. Authorities believe Victor actually ordered a hit on his cousin, Sixto David Fernández, whom shooters mistook David “Big Papi” Oritz for at the Dominican Republic bar he was shot at.

At a recent press conference, Dominican Republic police expressed that Victor wanted his cousin killed because he turned him into Dominican drug investigators in 2011. This narrative is, reportedly, checking out due to the fact that Victor Gómez spent time in prison with at least one of the 11 arrested suspects. It’s also been revealed that Sixto David Fernández received threatening messages from Victor prior to David Ortiz’s shooting.

Victor Gómez’s attorney, Carlos Rubio, has yet to comment on the case, but posted a video of his client claiming his innocence. In Spanish, Victor says:
“My name is Victor Hugo Gomez…I am making this video because I fear for my life.”
He continued:
“I want to clarify that I have nothing to do with any attempt on the life against Sixto David Fernández. We’re family…I would never do something like this…and least of all [to] David, ‘Big Papi.’”
