Nipsey Hussle’s “Marathon Clothing” Denies Rumors Of Birthday Event At His Store: This Is NOT Endorsed By Us
It seems everyone wants a piece of the Marathon Clothing Store – becoming a Los Angeles hotspot after the tragic passing of its owner, rapper/entrepreneur Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom in March. The store, specializing in California-repping Crenshaw memorabilia, has been closed for business since Nipsey’s passing due to an overwhelming demand for their merchandise.
Marathon Clothing has, now, encountered another obstacle. A flyer has recently circulated on social media, advertising a birthday party in Neighborhood Nip’s honor to be held at the store. The store’s team, ran by several of Nipsey’s family and friends, took to Instagram to dispel all rumors of a party.
The team’s official statement read:
“We’ve received numerous calls and emails inquiring about a celebratory event hosted at The Marathon Store for Nipsey’s birthday. There will NOT be an event hosted in or around our store. The events being posted are not endorsed by us. Thank you, The Marathon Clothing”
This isn’t the first time scammers have attempted to profit from Nipsey Hussle’s death. Tickets to his funeral at the Staples Center were released to fans via Ticketmaster for free. Scalpers immediately attempted to sell the tickets for profit outside of the arena, and on resell sites.
Rest in Peace, Nipsey Hussle.
