Rihanna To Honor Shaun King At Diamond Ball, But Fans Are Livid

Shaun King is Rihanna’s latest honoree at her fifth annual Diamond Ball.

Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley will also be recognized. DJ Khaled and Pharrell are also slated to perform.

The singer said in a statement,

“I can’t imagine a better night than this year’s Clara Lionel Foundation event with Seth Meyers, Pharrell and DJ Khaled. I am particularly honored to present Prime Minister Mottley and Shaun King with this year’s Diamond Ball Awards for their groundbreaking work. We are so thankful to them for joining us and making the night better than ever.”

King will now be in the ranks of Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar who have previously received the award. He expressed his appreciation on social media.

While he’s honored, some fans said Rihanna missed the mark with this one. In this past, King has been accused of being a scammer for being connected to fundraisers where the supposed recipients never received the money.
