The Rock Announces “Ballers” Will End With 5th Season [VIDEO]

HBO’s Upcoming 5th Season of “Ballers” Will Be the Final Season
After four years and five seasons, wrestler-turned-actor extraordinaire Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has announced that the HBO series, “Ballers,” has reached the end of its road. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writers and producers for the football comedy planned that the fifth season would be the last all along, with the decision in place months in advance.

The show was one of the premium cable network’s highest rated comedy’s from it’s start, with last season’s same-day viewers numbers averaging at over 800,000. The show’s star, Dwayne Johnson, saluted the series’ end with a touching Instagram TV video. His caption read:
“@therock Cheers to our FINAL SEASON of @HBO’s BALLERS My heart [heart emoji] is full of gratitude to all of you for rockin’ with us every season. You made us HBO’s highest rated comedy for years and most importantly, you helped create and sustain a platform for other actors to have the OPPORTUNITY to work hard, grow and become household names. To me, the opportunity Ballers created for so many others, is the real gold of our show. I love you, I thank you and enjoy our final season of BALLERS. This SUNDAY on @HBO. @SevenBucksProd”
The fifth and final season of “Ballers” premieres on August 25th and 10:30PM on HBO.
