Jordyn Woods is showing her growth after she was caught up in a scandal earlier this year. She was accused hooking up with Tristan Thompson, who is the now ex of Khloe Kardashian. Kardashian is the sister of Woods’ now-former best friend, Kylie Jenner.

While it might in the rear-view mirror, it’s becoming the turning point that caused Woods to step out on her own. She said in an interview,

“Everyone is trying to figure out what I’m doing but, to be honest, I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m finding my self-worth. At 21, this is the very beginning, even though I feel so old. This is the time you figure out who you are, and don’t let anyone define you.”

“Identity is something everyone struggles with. Everyone wants to fit in and find their place, and it’s so hard sometimes. Everyone tries to be the same person because they don’t know who they are.”

As for her relationship with Jenner, Woods questioned if they suffered a friendship breakup.

“What’s the definition of a breakup?”

She searched for the definition on her phone and added,

‘The separation or breaking up of something into several pieces or sections. The end of a relationship.’ Those are the two things. What I’d ask is, ‘Does anything really end? Or is it a cycle?’”

She then related it to her father’s passing when she was 19,

“The toughest breakup I had to go through was losing my father. Everything doesn’t feel as intense as that. Losing my dad prepared me for everything that happens in life, and… life has thrown some really crazy things at me. That’s part of the process.”

She said she shares her thoughts and feelings in her journal.

“I’ve always had them, but especially now I have trust issues. My book isn’t going to say something to someone.”

She flipped through and got emotional as she saw an entry telling her late father happy birthday, which was just before she went to Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk to share her side of what happened with Thompson.

Woods got emotional and said,

“This is really sad, actually. Well, it’s not sad, it’s bringing me back to what I felt at the time. Why am I crying?”

Woods, who has since moved on to new friendships with celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, added that she’s a fan of Megan’s #HotGirlSummer movement.

“I love hot-girl summer. But being a hot girl to me is about being intelligent too.”

While it’s not unusual to see her out and about now, Woods said she spent her first days after the scandal a little differently.

“When all this stuff happened, I stayed in and I started a lot of hobbies.”

She said some of those hobbies were binge-watching Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” playing the piano and painting.

She also shared her thoughts on the state of mental health in the Black community.

“I wish there was a course that everyone had to take. We should open the conversation of mental health and start discussing it in classrooms, and among each other. Especially in the black community — that’s not something we talk about.”

As for what’s next for her, she said she’s still figuring that out.

“You don’t have to pick one thing. Some people are more privileged, but we all can really choose who we want to be.”

Recently, her mother Elizabeth Woods, also detailed what Woods has experienced since the scandal, revealing that she’s lost friends but also has been denied services in places she would normally frequent, along with being a victi

“To sit back and watch @jordynwoods go through all of this mental and emotional anguish has been very emotional for us and we pray for everyone daily. To see your kids hurt at any age is difficult to say the least. All I can say is that I hope everyone out there is perfect and no one has to ever endure any bumps along the journey of growing. To watch the majority of her friends leave her, not be able to go get services where she got accustomed to going and get bullied by the world, it takes a strong ass family and individual to be able to deal with that on a daily basis. I am proud of your strength, your love of family and God, and your willingness to everyday want to move forward and do something positive @jordynwoods!! We are praying that friendships can be mended as life is short and no one is perfect. All those who truly know her and us, know that love is all we have to give. We for real got this and for life I have the most valuable gift, my family”
