Prince’s Half-Brother And Heir, Alfred Jackson, Passes Away
Prince’s family is grieving the loss of his half-brother, Alfred Jackson. Jackson was discovered unresponsive in his home in Kansas City, Missouri earlier this week. According to reports, he died of natural causes. Police don’t suspect any foul play.
Jackson was one of Prince’s six siblings who was considered an heir of Prince’s estate. The two had the same mother, Mattie Baker, who later married Prince’s dad, John L. Nelson.
He previously fought in the Vietnam War in the Air Force and lived at the St. Cloud, Minnesota VA Medical Center following his honorable discharge.
Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson confirmed Jackson’s passing on social media.
She wrote on Instagram,
“Hi Instagram family…my heart is heavy… didn’t want u 2 hear it from somewhere else…my Beloved & Wonderful older brother has passed on…Please respect our privacy at this time…~Tyka”

She also shared the news on Facebook.

Jackson’s passing comes three years after Prince tragically died. He was also found unresponsive in his home in Minnesota.
Jackson previously commended Prince in an interview shortly after his passing.
“My brother was everything in the world to me. God bless Prince, God bless the world. He’s a legend, he really is.”
