Kelly Rowland Says Beyonce ‘Was Robbed’ By Emmys For “Homecoming”
Beyonce’s Netflix special “Homecoming” was one for the books to say the very least. So, some fans and even critics were shocked when it didn’t take home a Creative Arts Emmy Award this year. The project received six nods: outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming; outstanding directing for a variety special; outstanding music direction; outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special.
Still, with all of that recognition, Homecoming, which featured a behind-the-scenes look of her epic Coachella performance, didn’t win any awards. And Beyonce’s BFF and Destiny’s Child groupmate Kelly Rowland, who joined Beyonce and their third DC member Michelle Williams for the performance, echoed many fans’ sentiments when she shared her thoughts on a recent interview.
When asked if she thought Beyonce was robbed, Rowland said,
“Absolutely… only because I know that she lost sleep, I know that she like… it was homecoming. The culture of it, the pride in it, the passion behind it, the countless sleepless hours, I know what those are, and I know what those were for her. So yeah, I do think she was robbed.”
